I find it hard to believe there are not more reviews about this hidden gem in Washington County. My husband and I attended OKLAHOMA this Saturday, and had a thoroughly enjoyable night. While it's my husband favorite show, I was not a fan of OKLAHOMA... but Ann Davis and Zane Oberholzer brought life to "Laurey" and "Curley," rather than just stand around and look and sound pretty. I am usually bored to tears by those characters, but in this production, you could actually see some thinking occuring, so the usually stinted dialogue made sense.
Evan MacKenzie also had incredible energy, and was a wonderful sidekick as "Will." We were very surprised to learn at intermission that they were understudies! If the "B" team was that talented, what must the leads be like? Bubby Lewis as "Ali Hakim" stayed wonderfully in character, and was highly entertaining as well.
Yes, the dance numbers could have been a bit more polished, and the food was not outstanding, but, overall, where else can you find quality entertainment with local actors in the area? We're certainly looking forward to their next production!
They're kidding, right?!?!?: Nothing even remotely redeeming.....
Don't bother!
High School skits at Broadway prices: It's like crowding around an area in your neighbor's basement to watch their kids show. Nice enough people, but save your money and go to the movies.
