Tiny, miniscule portions will make this a very, very expensive place to eat if you want a satisfying meal. Tiny portions are served in tiny dishes with a large piece of cornbread underneath. Expect to order many items per person at a cost of several hundred dollars per person. A VERY POOR VALUE.
If you like Seafood , you will love Legal Seafood!: There are a few Legal Seafood restaurants in and around the Boston area. The restaurant has locations in Copley Plaza, The Prudential Center, and in the Chestnut Hill area near the Movie Theater. I have lived in the Boston area for over 20 years. My favorite seafood restaurant is Legal Seafood.
No matter what restaurant location you visit you can be assured of excellent service, excellent food, and a huge variety of menu items to choose. Oysters, Mussels, Lobsters, Fresh fish and a variety of soups, salads, appetizers and excellent desserts. It just does not get better.
They provide their staff with training before they go on the floor. They encourage a group effort for the good of the entire restaurant. The Wait Staff pools their tips. Their interest is that everyone enjoy their dining experience.
If you like excellent food, excellent service, and a clean tastefully decorated environment to enjoy your meal - you will like Legal Seafood. I don't work there, or own any part of the restaurant. I am a customer of Legal Seafood. It is my favorite restaurant.
Things Change - $$$$$$ - Tourist read this: Legal Seafood used to have a really nice menu.
They went and changed it and added a bunch of funky sophisticated stuff.
New Englanders don't like a bunch of crazy things. Whilst change is good, it is good in moderation and not an overhaul. Legal Seafood does not represent New England anymore in my opinion anymore, I am afraid. They've gone a bit too national with expansion. They used to be my stand by to take someone out. They still have the best chowder, baked stuffed lobster and bisque. Depending on your location, there is great service. Service is good. People do not hover, but be prepared for LONG LINES AND WAITS unless you have a reservation. Extremely pricey and with a changing menu, unless you have money and don't care if you like what you pay for, then don't go there.
I prefer to know that if I am spending loads of money on a dinner, that I know what I am getting and it won't be wasted. This has made me shy away from Legal and go elsewhere.
