Disappointing. We were regulars when we lived in the area in the early 2000s. It used to be phenomenal. Service was always spotty, but they made incredible food. We were visiting friends here and were excited to go back. The first night we thought we just had a rare bad experience, so we decided to go back two nights later, which was worse. Here's our story. Told it was a 15 minute wait for 5 people (awkward # I understand), we waited 45 minutes and got put at a 4 top anyway with a seat that got bumped at least 4 times by waiters delivering food to other tables. The appetizers came out with the entrees and were cold (entrees weren't cold). Two of us ordered meat which was WAY overcooked (we ordered it MR and M and got WD and MW), the sauce was good though. One person ordered spaghetti which was great (how can you mess it up), the other two had pasta dishes (one liked it one thought it was weak and way overcooked). Dessert was great as always (4 of us loved it). The second night was a disaster, I really wanted to give it another try because of how much I loved it. We were regulars to the point that I knew the chef owner and his wife enough that they recognized me as a regular. On the first night I asked to see him and was told that he had the night off. The night we came back I was told that he'd left 2 years ago and was no longer the chef?! No wonder the food dropped off. Anyway, the second night we got hot appetizers but mine was overcooked and dried out (calamari). My pasta was OK but had a piece of wire in it (maybe from a grill brush that got stuck to the shrimp). The service was ridiculous. I didn't make a big deal out of the wire (it really hurt) but when I mentioned it, the server seemed completely indifferent and made an odd speculation that it was something that'd already been in my teeth? The wine we had was corked (our fault for not sending it back). 3 of the 4 people at our table were disappointed in their meals, one loved their mussels (I used to love them also). I didn't get dessert, but I'm positive it was incredibly good as it always was. I'm not planning to return, it is possible, to be fair that these 2 experiences were isolated, but I felt lied to that they'd claim to have their awesome chef and he'd left years ago. I also felt bad that I'd recommended it twice and gotten burned. If you love it, keep going, just my 2(+) cents.

I've been to Argia's twice in the past couple of months, and enjoyed it very much both times. The food was delicious and the service was very good. I had a different waiter each time, and both were good, prompt, and helpful! I'm planning a trip back soon.

Obviously people see things in different lights. We have eaten here at least four times, lastly only a week or so ago. We have always found the food to be delightful - some dishes more than others, but never a disappointing one among them. Specials have been super. Service has been helpful and never less than friendly. Portions have always been too large for us to eat and the carryout boxes are good to have the next day.
