Get the coupon in the mail and come hungry! Lot's of food, fresh, and the price, well, compare what you get for $10 in this area for dinner with what you get at the Old Country Buffet and there's simply no comparison! Great choices, the food is good, drink all the soft drinks, milk, tea, or coffee that you want, and then if you have room, finish it all off with dessert. I have seen it busy, usually around 1 PM in the afternoon and around 7 PM in the evening. But remember, busy is good. Many people go because they like the food and the price is right. From a veteran "restaurantier", take this tip to heart. When you drive up to a restaurant, are there a lot of cars in the parking lot or is the parking lot mostly empty around meal time? Busy almost always means good. For the money, we give it 5 Stars.
Great selection of food at about $10/adult. It tends to be very busy and sometimes crowded, but the staff at the restaurant is very diligent about replacing the food and keeping the tables clean. Compared to most buffets, their food is always hot and fresh because it never sits around for very long. They have separate bars with mostly American dishes, pizza and pasta, some fish filets, salads, soups, carved meats, and a new taco bar. Their breakfast menu is also very good. I highly recommend them for the quality and wide variety of food as most every other buffet in the area is limited to either Chinese or Pizza.
Willing to wait and wait?: Not all the Old Country Buffets are the same, the one in Woodbridge is definitely a lot better that the one in Fairfax. In this last one, yes it is true, they have steaks, but you have to wait ½ hour in line for getting a tinny piece of it. And if you want it well done⦠then you better forget it. Make sure not to be hungry, have babies (which means your spouse has to wait for you back at the table before heading for some food), and to be plenty of time.
If you want real buffet steaks, try Elena's Oven, they are located in the Fairfax Circle (9542-B Arlington Blvd), great food and their buffet menu includes awesome steaks and you don't have to wait anything for getting one and all for the same price.
I have been few times at the Fairfax Old Country Buffet. Although the environment is nice with friendly people, my overall experience with their food is pretty bad
