| About: | This Vietnamese deli and bakery offers a selection of Vietnamese sandwiches filled with cold cuts, ground pork, grilled chicken, grilled pork or Vietnamese ham. Its roast pork sandwich on a French roll, with a scallion, a cucumber spear, cilantro and a jalapeno tucked inside, makes a delectably spicy lunch-to-go. You can also try the off-beat selection of beverages which include a selection of "bubble" drinks made from fruit juices, coffee or tea, to which are added chewy balls of tapioca starch. Prices are so reasonable you can fill your belly for a song. |

Had some very good Banh Mi here. the prices are cheap and the quality is good. However, the ordering can be somewhat painful here because there are a lot of people that waiting to order, but no defined ordering lines. This got somewhat confusing, but eventually we got through :-)
Good bubble drinks: This place seems to specialize in Vietnamese "banh mi" subs and bubble drinks. I say bubble drinks as opposed to bubble tea, because I don't think they actually use any tea at all. We routinely enjoy the sweet red-bean bubble, which is more like a red-bean with crushed ice slushy than a bubble tea...it's very milky and flavorful and the tapioca bubble is high-quality (i.e., won't dissolve or melt away immediately). A word for the non-native...stay away from the guavabana flavor unless you know EXACTLY what it is. It does not taste like guava or banana...we were not prepared for the taste.
Their banh mi is fairly standard...nothing to go crazy about. We prefer the banh mi at "Banh Mi DC Sandwich", which is located outside of Eden Center along route 50. Still, since Song Que is more conveniently located in the heart of Eden Center, a sub + bubble drink combo is hard to pass up!
