Good service, pretty nice atmosphere and decor, nothing amazing, not even the food. I had the rack of lamb but it was too salty and the two appetizers were acceptable. No restaurant deserves 5 stars except a handful in Manhattan, and a couple in LA, SF and Paris. This one is 8 out of 10 which is equivalent to 4 stars.
great expectations: We have had so many memorable moments dining at this fine restaurant
it is not fine dining food: reading the reviews from magazines and some from here, the only thing we could agree with is the service and the ambiance. besides that the food is definitely NOT FINE DINING and the money that was paid for. the food is average where it did not leave a wow effect. there are many aspects to a four stars restaurant, and one of the most important is the food, and all of our dishes, which were eatable, but we don't think there were any seasoning, the presentation was blend. french cuisine is know for its sauces and herbs. we hope l'auberge chez francois does not neglect, but instead keeps up with its reputation.
