First impression wasn't the best! Tried the Irish Pub for the first time after a Nats game on Saturday night around midnight. Just made it before the kitchen closed and the food was good. The waitress was sweet but brand new and didn't really know the drink menu that well (she kept asking the bar tender our questions). As soon as you walk-in, the smoke hits you but as we walked more toward the center of the resturant the smoke eaters did eliminate some of the smoke and it wasn't too bad. Although it was late, and the crowd had apparently died down because the band stopped at midnight, it looked like it would be a fun place. My husband LOVES Irish Pubs; however, as we finished our food and drinks, he found a shard of glass in his jack & diet. It actually was large enough to cut his mouth and cause some bleeding. When he told the bar tender / manager, they did not act concerned and just said, "well, we cleaned out the ice bucket yesterday and no one broke a glass today." Apparently, he did not want to do anything about it. We know that sometimes these things happen...we just didn't really like the response we got from the manager (felt he should have apologized and told us what action he would take to prevent it). We checked the glass and there were no chips in it, so it had to be in the ice, and we just wanted to inform them just in case there were broken pieces.

We may go back (if I can push my husband to try it again) because they seem to have great drink specials, lots of food choices and fun Irish bands, etc. Like most places now-a-days, the service was sub-par.

pleased to find this place in VA..: The title says it all. Of course they live up to the traditional standards of an Irish Pub or I would not be writing this review. If you find yourself on a Wednesday night, traveling for business and want more than a "dive bar" to hang out for a couple of hours...this is the place. I had just about thrown in the towel in finding decent places to "decompress" and then I found this jewell.
I did nt get anything to eat here but saw several tables of "regulars" who seemed to enjoy the food.

Great local Irish Pub: This is a great FAMILY Irish Pub. Not a trendy place but good local folk. Usually a much older crowd but after 10 pm brings in the young folks. As for food, great specials. The food is pretty good for pub grub. However I am always impressed with the quality and taste with the specials on the hand written specials menu. This is coming from a 31 year old female.
