User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThe BBQ meals and staff were great. The staff opened the door for us and led us to our table in seconds. The waiter deserved and received a 20% tip. We loved Famous Dave's Rich and Sassy as well as Texas BBQ sauce. Any of the BBQ meals are great as well as the corn bread, but the corn on the cob was soggy. The apple and mashed potatoe sides were great too. Kids liked their cheeseburger and mac and cheese. However, my green bean side was heavily garlicked. Finally, the place was CLEAN, the atmosphere was good, and we enjoyed looking at all the country artifacts hanging from the walls.
Obviously Famous Dave's does not fit the typical Washingtonian style restaurant. However, I've been to plenty of BBQ joints and this rates highly compared to them. Avoid the corn on the cob and green beans and you will be satisfied with a great BBQ meal at a good price.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsOne of the best BBQ chains in my experience. I agree the staff at this location is young but i have never had a problem "in house". In fact it is the kind of place where your bottomless drink is rarely empty. In fact, the wife bribes me to go to the nearby mall by allowing me to go to Famous Dave's for lunch.
User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsMaybe I'll find another place to eat: Famous Dave's, Oakton, Virginia - Although the food is wonderful, the young age of the wait staff combined with inadequate training, has finally taken its toll on me. Today, I attempted to place a take out order by phone. I was placed on hold, then another person answered, and put me on hold. Then another person answered, and he put me on hold. Each time, their telephone etiquette was severely lacking. Finally I was able to place my order, but this will be the last time I go to Famous Dave's, at least at the Oakton Virginia location. If you want noise and poor service, be my guest.
