High Quality All Around: Entering this quaint restaurant you are greeted by Lebanese decor, very accomodating and attentitive staff, and more food than you can eat -all at a great price. I highly recommend the FATTEH BEL BATHENJAN
AMAZING restaurant!!!: When I visited this restaurant I had no idea what "Lebanese" food was, but it looked like a cool place so I gave it a try. I was absolutely amazed. I can see why this place has become a Washington institution. Started by a lebanese family as a pizza shop and then lebanese eatery, it has turned into a well established and respected restaurant with several area locations.
I personally have visited the one in Crystal City (Arlington) and was drawn by the cozy outdoor seating along Pentagon row. While a slightly commercialized location, the owners have created a cozy atomosphere by placing a beautiful arbor over the entire dining area. While seating is a bit snug, the sound is insulated enough to have a private conversation.
Inside, the restaurant is gorgeous. You are greeted by a well apportioned bar displaying a their wid-variety of wine choices (several of which being Lebanese). Dim lights, candles, and plush carpeting and gorgeous cherry make this a most romantic setting.
The food is among the best I've had. While holding to their Lebanese roots with strong flavors and spices, their are a wide-variety of options for those that prefer to not be overwhelmed with flavor. Additionally, the wait staff is among the best I've encountered anywhere. Very well trained and knowledgable, they also prompt and courteous.
It's easy to see why this family owned establishment has become such a success. Offering great food in a great atomosphere, with exceptional service and at a fair price...a proven recipe for success.
