They are completely criminal in their practices. If you contract with them, you are asserting that you agree with their shady business practices. Vehicle owners will litigate against you! Do not subject your business to this liability.-

I had a negative experience with A-1 Towing. Employees are rude and not helpful. A-1 refuses to accept credit cards, forcing customers to use debit cards and give out pin numbers. The building is dirty and seedy. Pricing seems arbitrary. A price list is not posted at the window, as it should be according to law. Employees do not understand pricing system and are only interested in collecting money. Overall, an unpleasant company to deal with.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same company here. The staff I spoke with were condescending, brusque, dismissive, and anything but courteous.

PLEASE! Someone from A-1 must have written that response. They can't even spell courteous. They are completely criminal in their behavior. First, they do not comply with Alexandria City ordinances which have specific mandates for towing companies. Second, they are completely shady with their towing practices. I would not recommend any businesses to employ their services. They will only be exposed to liability and lawsuits. If anyone disagrees, please feel free to check the court records for the amount successful lawsuits against this company. Also, if you have been unfortunate enough to do business with this company, please feel free to direct your complaints to the towing and recovery board. I will post the link in my next response.

Yeah, I totally agree that the posted review was provided by an employee of A1 Towing. I live at the Templeton of Alexandria and these crooks have towed me three times - none of which were valid towing reasons. On top of that, if you read Section 9 of Code for the City of Alexandria, they are in violation of code in several instances (max price they can charge, signs necessarily posted, etc.). I'm currently taking this up with Towing and Recovery for the State of VA.

They towed my car away mistakenly and on the next day i didnt go to work and then when i go to them they said that they returned the car in place because it is towed mistakenly and i asked them to compensate me for the time that i waste and they laugh at me and told me to go to work right away ,i have never seen such a rude and ethicsless company ever ,and i told them that i am gonna sue them for that ,and i think they have no idea about the law ,they dont even know what law and court means ,so they wish me luck on suing ,and i will show them my success in bitting them because i am a lawyer myself . I dont need a wish to sue ,coz it is my job to do that.

I would agree. I didn't believe that I was being charged 85$ to have my door sprung. Not as in opened, as in the method used to unlock my doow was a hard plastic wedge shoved betweent the frame and the window portion of the door. Then a long metal pole/bar was stuck in to push the door lock. I should've called the glass people instead since I have a rock chip in my windshield anyway. I would've then at least had a new windshield, my door wouldn't most likely leak next time we have rain, and I still would've gotten the keys out of my car. End result- the door was opened so request accomplished. I could've done without the wait. I called to verify the price after the fact since the driver said they don't accept credit card and didn't give me a receipt...and was told they do accept credit card. I'm thinking I'm better off because this way, by the time the bill would've arrived, I'll be over it. If I saw that charge on my statement- I would be mad all over again!
