Applebee's Neighborhood Grill

Went here twice during my stay in Alexandria. Both time we were almost immedietly seated, food came out in a timely manner and the service was attentive and friendly. The food was really good too! ESPECIALLY the Triple Chocolate Meltdown!!! Yum yum!

This was the worst Applebees I have ever been to. It was clear from her first word, that the server was horrible and I should have left right there. She was not even able to carry a plate full of drinks and had to bring them 2 at a time. We ordered and waited for our meals, which when they finally came, were brought like the drinks - 1 at a time, with long delays between. By the time 4 of the 5 meals were there, 2 of us had half ours eaten and the 5th - a simple plain cheese burger, never showed up. First the server said it would be right out, then then apologized and said someone else had gotten it. After a half hour, they brought the wrong meal. I asked to speak with the manager who seemed confused as to how to handle the situation. A good manager would have seen what a train wreck it was and just comp'd me immediately. This guy finally took a percentage off. When I paid him, he never came back with my change. I had to flag him down and he sent the original server back, who was so stupid that she gave me back the wrong amount (about $25 too much), so being an honest person, I again had to find the manager to give him the right amount. NEVER GO HERE!

I have eaten at many different Applebees in several states. This is by far the worst. We waited at least 30 min to be seated on what appeared to be a slow sunday evening. A major red flag was at the other tables everyone had drinks...NO FOOD! They tried to carry on meaningless conversations to take their mind off the hunger. My drink and appetitizer took forever, and my appetitizer was old. I always order the same thing so I know how it should look and taste. Our entrees took even longer, so long that the drink and appetizers settled in our stomach and we were actually full. So we cancelled our entrees and left. Also be prepared for a VERY limited menu. None of my favorite items were on the menu. That was the reason I stayed in the first place despite all the red flags.
