I have stayed on time or another in all the Hilton products. The Hampton, Homewoods etc, and it was disappointing to say the least. No free internet, no fridge, no microwave. Man. I know they want to have you visit the bars and such on premise, but come on. In Crystal City I expected more. I even asked for a smoking room on-line and I got there and the hotel is non-smoking. I respect that, but I would have found another hotel if that was the case.
This was a bit of a disappointment. Location doesn't matter in a way, if you're familiar with this area of Crystal City. Everything is sort-of interconnected, so there is no advantage/disadvantage. This isn't the sort of place where you stay on vacation, anyway, so I consider location irrlevant when assessing this place.
I'm not fussy about the room, but it was aggrivating to have my room directly across from a conference room. People would congregate outside from early in the morning until late an night.
The WiFi service was terrible. It kept dropping our folks from the network. It was essentially useless.
The room was clean, though, and the staff was not rude. They didn't exactly overwhelm me with friendlyness, either.
I would not recommend this hotel for either business or vacation travel. I would stay here again, but only if I had to attend another conference at this location and there was no other lodging option.
Just an OK experience: I would never recommend this hotel for a business traveler. The lack of free Internet access is very off-putting, especially when a lot of other hotels offer it as one of many perks; very overpriced for the amenities you get. Friendly staff but perhaps a little too visible for my taste. The maids come entirely too early in the morning and everyone seems to be looking for a tip. I won't come back when I'm back in the area in a couple of months.
