I love El Pollo Rico! The food and service is GREAT!
âEl Pollo Ricoâ is a local non-corporate fast food joint that serves up some of the best Peruvian chicken in the area. My wife and I ordered two platters and drinks for $11.00 last weekend. It was crowed, noisy, multi-ethnic and no frills. In a word, perfect. The previously maligned fries were the best steak fries I have ever had and I hate steak fries. They were hot, fresh, crazy crispy, not greasy, and fried in peanut oil. The aioli or âunknown white sauceâ was a great match. Get the platter with every sauce offered. Mix and match to taste or preferred burn level. Sauce refills are extra. Parking is tight, but be patient and you will eventually get a spot.
For the Tony Bourdain fans out there⦠yep, this is the place.
Was âEl Pollo Ricoâ a foodie religious experience? No, but it is a great alternative in a sea of fast food mediocrity and complacency that will keep me coming back. Thumps up!
Well, El Pollo Rico is what it is: a fast-food joint that happens to serve some of the best chicken in the area (although the long-gone Whitey's broasted chicken would have put them to shame). Two types of sauce, red and green that vary in tang, vague mayo-looking stuff, and some mundane french fries more or less complete the menue.
And I'm not sure whether the chicken is good value for the money now.
Do not, repeat, DO NOT, buy the Inka Cola.
