Tom Sarris Orleans House

My dad use to take us there all the time when we were little. My dad even proposed to my stepmom there some 17 or 18 years ago. I haven't been there in a while but I am going to miss it very much. I'm hoping my husband & I can have dinner there tonight seeing as my husband had never ate there before. I do hope they decide to rebuild elsewhere.


Well we made it last night for the last meal there. My son who had never been there loved the salad bar, the lights, the knight & water fountain. We took pictures of everything. It was also the first time my son had a prime rib steak & he loved it...eventhough he kept calling it chicken. Everyone was taking pictures of the place & the staff. It's so sad to see it go. I truely hope they do decide to rebuild in the future. I told my family about the place closing down & they were shocked to hear about it. They have all since moved away from Va so they weren't able to eat there one more time but they were happy that we could. To Tom Sarris & the staff, thank you for the wonderful memories I have of my family(some of which have passed on) going there through the years.

I have been eating there since 1968. Tonight I will eat for the last time at this wonderful restaurant. I cannot believe it is closing. No where else will you have such food, service or experiences. Ahhhh, the prime rib!!!!

Every visit to DC must include a Prime Rib dinner at the Orleans House as I have been doing since 1980's.. Great salad bar with huge selections; a dinner in itself. Staff is efficient and good service. It is like walking back in time with the decor of the retaurant.
