| About: | The simplicity of this modest little restaurant in the southern end of Alexandria is deceptive. The restaurant is simply decorated in green and white. As its name suggests, this restaurant offers a wide variety of curry dishes. Each one contains different ingredients. But the grilled meats, biriyani rice dishes and exotic salads are worth sampling as well. top by for the $8 Sunday buffet to try a little of everything. |

There's a lot to love about the Bombay Curry Company. It's a neighborhood institution, since a lot of folks on the way back from work pick up dinner there. Or settle in, since it's never that crowded. The food is excellent, although owner Balraj Bhasin admits he's Americanized some dishes but is willing to put fire back into anything. You can't fault his reasoning there; he's the one who has to know his clientele.
The Bombay Curry Company is in an older strip mall on Mt. Vernon Avenue. It has the advantage of plenty of parking in front. It has the disadvantage of having nothing like a striking interior. It does have a very attentive staff, and they're fast. Prices are reasonable. And Balraj is there, sometimes disconcertingly behind you, asking questions about diners' opinions on the quality of food and service. The man TRIES and is succeeding.
Mediocre food, good service. This was a nice place, nice people, but I found the food to be a bit disappointing. The curry dishes lacked in flavor and was very average over all.
Bombay curry co....a worthy place to be...as u enter the restaurent u can smell a food that makes your mouth fill with water......a small and lousy place because i like everything about this place except the music...i think it'd be better they have played the bollywood music...or let'say movie song...everythig is okay except the music that never makes you romantic..and it's better for them to play the music...no comments on food and service..looking forward to see changes on bombay curry co.good luck..
