Not to sound flip, but I think the last reviewer must be confused with the restaurant they are reviewing or maybe there's some other reason for such a completely different dining experience than my family, friends and I have had over the last 30 years. We have celebrated our grandparents 50th anniversary, our parents retirements and now our generation with special occasions like our engagement and wedding rehearsal dinners there and have always felt so appreciated by the staff and delighted with the food and service. It's our date night place too. We have always marveled at the fact that in the 30 years we've been going there, we've never had less than a wonderful time. I guess that everyone can have an off day at work but we've never found that to be true at The Log Cabin.
Overpriced and Over Rated: I only went to the Log Cabin once since I moved to Stafford 12 years ago. That was enough for me. Despite what others have said or have written here and elsewhere, I was really disappointed and have never been back. The food is mediocre and unimaginative in presentation, the atmosphere reminds me of an old seafood house from the 40's and the service was not only mediocre but the people, I thought were pretty snotty to my family and me. Of course the biggest turnoff for me was when we got the bill. I paid a lot more for a lot less that I had at other such restaurants. For many the Log Cabin rings their bell and good for them if they enjoy it and don't mind forking over the bucks, but for me and my family the bell sounds more like a dead thud.
Don't be fooled by the "fine dinning" advertisment, I am sure it is just a ploy!!
Having enjoyed the Log Cabin for many years in the past I was shocked at the "fine dining" experience my wife & I endured this time we dined there.
First was the very unfriendly hostess that seated us, the dining room was empty but we were still marched to a small two person table at the far end of the restaurant, that was not even big enough to hold diner plates, bread plates, etc....Once our server appeared we went to the salad (joke) bar..I have never been to a restaurant that doesn't serve tomatoes, although there were plenty of ripe ones on the vines as we walked passed them to enter. The dinner itself was medicore...I have had better steaks at Ponderosa!! There was nothing notable about the occasion, except the lighter feeling in my wallet.
It is a sad state of affairs when the MANAGER looks as if she just walked in from a yard sale..flip flops...really....Take note..the staff & management at Outback is better dressed & more professional.
