User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBrothers is the real deal NYC style thin crust pizza and as far as I know the only one of its kind anywhere around here. Its definitely the best by far!! Its Italian family run and authentic.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsTHE best pizza in town!: We discovered Brother's a couple of years ago when we were here to buy a house... and since moving here have not ventured very far OR wide to try any other pizza place in town! I've tried another Mom & Pop place that is very good...but not as good as Brother's... and my NY husband won't even consider going there... he loves Brother's pizza that much!
The crust is perfect... thin tossed & not crackery (like Pizza Hut or the other "thin" pizzas that are out there)... the sauce is perfectly seasoned... not sweet (like Papa Johns)... the sandwiches are good sized... the salads are large... and my kids love to share a piece of cheesecake. I've not tried that just because there's never any left! Amazingly, we haven't tried the pastas... but they look excellent as well. The fries and other sides are freshly prepared... you can see everything they do right over the counter. My kids LOVE to watch the pizzas being tossed and topped with their selection of "stuff."
The place is small... in a strip shopping center/mall...maybe 5 booths and a larger table in the middle that can accomodate 6-8. There is a TV set that provides background noise. There are a few booths out on the sidewalk... the view is of the parking lot... but on nice days, who really cares?! You are so busy gnoshing....
It is family owned... and you see the same faces working all the times we have been in there... they have come to know our family and always greet us and make us feel welcome...whether we are eating in or taking out.
We have take out pizza for our kids' b-day parties...but the rest of the time we call in our order ahead of time so by the time we drive the 15 minutes into town, it is piping hot and waiting for us! Great for the kids who hate to wait!! But we just really like the "ambiance" if you want to call it that... just homey and friendly... and reasonably priced. The folks are nice... and that's all a part of the Brother's package!!
I definitely recommend Brother's pizza for great NY taste in Fredericksburg, VA!
