User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsWe too frequently eat at the Sandpiper, and have never experienced a bad meal. The steaks and seafood are always delicious. There is very little atmosphere, and the service is slow, but slow is a way of life around here, and we would not have it any other way !! Smile.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI may have been misled before going to this restaurant.I had heard from many sources this was the best in the area.If it is,it isn't consistent.
The evening I went it was late opening and I guess that may have been the problem.Whatever it was, nothing seemed to be quit right,not that it wasn't attempted it just never quit got there.The menu looked special and hopefully I attempted the only things on the menu that were off.
In fairness,the food wasn't bad at all.It just fell short of special.I left without my appetite.Thats the main reason we eat.Special is only something we look forward to.

It's a shame this person had a bad experience at the Sandpiper. My wife and dine at The Sandpiper regularly and have never had a bad experience. The seafood is excellent and the steak is tender and always cooked to perfection. The service is somewhat slow, but when meals are prepared to order, that is to be expected. All restaurants have a "bad night", as we all do, but being inconsistent isn't what I would call this restaurant.
