About:Three upstairs dining rooms and a downstairs bistro offer a comfortably elegant setting at this restaurant. The menu reflects the flavors of the area and the season. A wonderful variety of wines are available to complement your meal and each wine is hand picked with the menu in mind.     Pleasantly surprised.

    L'Etoile takes an old hat idea of inspiring local S. Valley products with professional and interesting euro inspiration, but they do it better. I didn't expect much when the wife & co. chose it for lunch. The shrimp and grits special were mouth-watering. The vidalia and tomato bisque was appropriately creamy and zesty and the "special tea" they brew fresh by the pitcher and a marvel of loose organic tea from Boston. We've already made reservations for dinner.

    Delicious: Sweetbreads were the best I've ever had! Prices were very fair, and portions were huge for a fine dining restaurant. Excellent wine list that included some older vintage Bordeaux-- unheard of for Charlottesville. Atmosphere was second to none, and the service unobtrusive. Wil definately return!
