If you're just looking to do laundry this is the place to go. Their standard washers are only $1.50, and are comparable in size to what you might find in somebody's house. Other places call these machines "large" and charge a bit more for use. Their driers give you six minutes per quarter, where most I think give you five. In short, more clothes washed for less money. Might seem like pinching pennies (or quarters), but the economy's bad and laundromats ain't exactly signs of affluence to begin with. Getting a week's worth of clothes washed and dry for under $3 is pretty good to me.

Now the downsides. People tend to leave their fabric softener sheets in the machines or on the floor, so it isn't always clean. Some people can bring their children, who can get noisy. But you're there to do laundry, not have a meal or relax. I've never been to a laundromat that was clean and quiet. Last problem is the hours. They're closed each day by 6 and not open on Sundays. Not the most convenient, but most people's schedules could work it.
