   This restaurant is between average and good for me. Although the steak I had was extremely delectable, I felt like I was waiting an awful long time to get it.
   
   This is in the higher price range for the Downtown Mall but like I said, my meal was very tasty.

   RUDE!!!
   
   Three of my friends and I decided to stop here for dessert one evening while in Charlottesville on business. A local friend had said that this was her daughter's favorite restaurant. It was crowded around dinner time so we ate elsewhere. Later on, when we walked by and saw numerous open tables, we went in. After we told the waitress we wanted to have dessert, she started grabbing the place settings and acting mad. We asked if there was a problem, and she said we were supposed to sit at the bar if we wanted "dessert only" during the dinner rush. It was much later than the normal dinner hour where I come from, and there were numerous empty tables that remained empty while we were there. Only one couple came in after us. Anyway, my friends wanted to try the dessert, and so we stayed. It was good, but I would have left had my friends not wanted to stay. I was very uncomfortable and felt like I was in trouble. The waitress went over and complained to the hostess (maybe the manager)about us. After we ate, we spoke to the same woman (the hostess or manager--I have no idea who she was). She defended the waitress's behavior and said we should have sat at the bar. I cannot believe how we were treated. This was in 2003, and I have not forgotten it. I have traveled all over the country and have never been treated like this. I've had poor service before and rude wait staff, but this one takes the cake! I would not recommend eating here unless you follow their rules...

   This is my favorite Charlottesville restaurant. Great service, excellent food...consistantly excellent food! Great location on the Charlottesville Downtown Pedestrian Mall..grab a seat outside if you can.
