Very different kind of place to eat. We went there for lunch out of curiosity...after all, what exactly is South African fare? No wait. Just went right in. Food was both interesting and delicious. They offer a number of nice mixed drinks and even a couple of south african beers. Definately somewhere to check out if you have any culinary adventurousness.
From a native South African: The Boerewors was really good, I grew up on it in SA and this comes pretty darned close to what is should taste like - will definitely be going back for that!! Atmosphere was great, all the Rugby you can handle. Was a little disappointed in the beer selection - nothing South African, but a good SA wine selection!! Also, when I saw Koeksisters on the menu I was so excited but unfortunatly they were nowhere near the real thing. Will be going back for some more Rugby and Boerewors for sure. This is a decent place to start if you're looking for a hint of South African cuisine.
South African fare: Reservations are a must, but don't go for the decor. Nothing fancy and not the remotest hint of feng shui. Very interesting menu, however. Go there when you want to try something different. My chicken was alright. My friend's salmon was better. My other friend's lamb was amazing. But what's with the people staring? Am I that beautiful, or did people think we did not belong?
