User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsJoin the fun!: We went to South Street to enjoy some live jazz, and just so happened to be hungry at the same time. I found the menu somewhat limited, but I had a tostada appetizer with lime cream sauce, the salmon, polenta and haricots verts (green beans) entree, and creme brulee for dessert. Everything was nicely presented and flavorful (the salmon might've been a tad overcooked), but I wasn't blown away. The service was good. The Satan's Pony amber would've tasted a lot better if it were served ice cold, but I did like it a lot. It's a nice, renovated, spacious building with wood floors and the entertainer allowed for an open mic experience -- my sister sang and my brother played saxophone. Cool spot. Fun time. I'll definitely be back.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMirco Brew's worth looking at: In hte mood for a lil drinking?? Like mirco brews?? Then South Street Brewery is for you.. They offer some of the best mirco brew's Ive had the chance to try... and some of the best pizza I have sampled.. Great place to go with a group of friends if you just wanna hang out either by the fireplace or at the bar while watching a game on one of 2(or 3) televisions.. And nicely placed behind the bar is where all the mirco magic happens..
For Daveheads, the Pink Warehouse is nicely placed next door.. In a historic section of Charlottesville.. And I suggest you try the Hard Cider.. has punch and very drinkable!
