They do save/rescue many dogs & cats that otherwise would most likely be put to sleep & must give them credit for this. The adoption program ,in my opinion & experiance is a farce. You have to put a NON REFUNDABLE deposit down to hold a pet you like yet "THEY" which means the owner decides if you are suitable to adopt. They also neglect to post on the site she drives bt your house after the adoption & if she feels things are not up to her "standards" she takes your pet away. Beware of her!!!. Also if you ARE DISABLED DO NOT BOTHER EVEN GOING AS SHE FEELS DISABLED PEOPLE UNABLE TO CARE FOR DOGS AS WELL AS NON DISABLED PEOPLE. This is far from true & I have 2 very happy, healthy & very well cared for trained dogs to prove her wrong. But she will take the non refundable deposit from disabled people quick enough with no intentions of letting you adopt.Quick way to take your money for nothing!!!!Food prices are high and you can get it else where cheaper. She insists you go to "HER TRAINING" just another way for her to make more money. I agree that places like petsmart & their training is a joke however there are many other certified well respected trainers that are just as if not more qualified than her school. After I was not allowed to adopt due to being disabled I bought a puppy from a breeder, when I could have adopted if not disabled, and is is very well cared for & very healthy which my Vet will attest to and he attended Canine College where they are wonderful very experianced trainers of over 20 yrs & they also take in abandoned dogs and adopt/sell them completly trained. Another highly experianced fantastic trainer is The Good Dog School in Easton. He did wonders with my German Shepherd that I rescued from the MSPCA when they contacted me about a litter brought in that had been severly abused & having bred Shepherds for over 20 yrs asked me to adopt. They did not discriminate because I was disabled as they knew my dogs were loved & very well cared for. This trainer did wonders w/her.My Vet was so impressed she now recommend him to her clients.
In closing this review I must again commend this place for saving animals. However I feel her practice of deposits, her having the final say if a "match" is right after a brief meeting of people, taking pets back at her own opinion, using her training,& her discrimination of the disabled goes well over board. There are many other ways to raise money to help these animals like the fund raisers.I love my dogs dearly & would love to see every animal adopted and have a loving home but would never want anyone else to experiance the blatent disrespectful,un true pre judgement I endured. BEWARE before putting a deposit down
