I was not to impressed. The place is dirty. You could see in the kitchen which was dirty. Walls by the booths had dried food and dirt on them. Seats in the booths split. Food was just ok. Service was below average. Many other better places to eat than this one.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis place has a couple locations, my experience is the one on Quioccasin. The food is super cheap, fast, and the quality is great! I have been going for almost 5 years and have never had a bad meal there. Lunch is the best deal, but the dinner portions are very generous.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsEl Chapala makes Mexican Mexican Food: This is the real deal. Extra points if you speak spanish to the waiters. Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe features prominently on the wall as a huge mural when you walk to the back room (the front room looks like it's either for the lunch-time crowd or for friends and family of the restaurant staff). Mexican TV is playing, football (that's soccer to you Americans), telenovelas, old Mexican movies, the coolest stuff to complete the authentic atmosphere. Ask your waiter where he's from. Durango, Oaxaca, Chiapas, District Federal, you name it, they are here. And the food...! do I even have to mention it? come on folks, this is the most authentic Mexican food in the Richmond area. And you obviously can't beat the price, it's like they imported those from the Old Country as well. this stuff is tasty and cheap. BUEN PROVECHO!
