    Don't read a book by its cover. From the outside and probably the inside too this place looks like a dive. However, the steaks are fabulous and not too damaging to the wallet. The beer is cold and the staff attentive. The only set back, depending on your fellow diners smoking habits, you may walk out smelling like an ashtray. Still one of my favorite places in Richmond.

    Always good: I eat at the Border Cafe 5 or 6 times a year and I have not had a bad meal. Love the black bean cakes and sweet potato fries. Specials are always a good choice. Enjoy!

    The Best Steaks In The Fan: I am always impressed when I visit The Border. Their filets are brilliant to say the least, and the Blood Mary bar on Sundays is amazing as well.
