A wonderful place to visit: The science museum of Virginia is one of the local landmarks everyone must see, if even only from the outside. Housed in the Main Street Station, which on the basis of the grand train stations which flourished around the time of the flappers, this place is palatial with its large roman columns and huge dome which dominates its place in the local architecture as being famous as a building in its own right.
The science museum with the Ethyl planetarium is quite the thing to see for a city of the size or Richmond. Being one of the oldest IMAX planetariums on the east coast, it boasts some of the best special interest films and general audience planetarium shows this side of DC.
The interactive exhibits, traveling exhibits, as well as the train lore through the museum and its grounds, will prove to be a fascinating visit for all who venture under the dome.
Frankly, the price is a bit steep for those who are on a budget, which I include myself, itâs worth the money you can save to come.
