User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsAtmosphere was great. Food was okay. I would go back but wouldn't run back. The calamari was salty and pizza/restaurant quality. The homemade pasta was very good. Quite expensive for the quality. Service was very good.

Good food, nice atmosphere....but if you don't like smoking near your food, you're SOL as the breezy atmosphere left us reeking us tobacco smoke!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsLa Grotta... better than ever!: My "Restaurant Rule" is that I always give a place a second try. If it fails me twice, I will never return. My first experience at La Grotta was mediocre at best. I was seated with my boyfriend in an area with little privacy or ambiance. Both the service and the food were forgettable. I literally forgot what the food was like. As unimpressed as I was, I didn't return for about 5 years. When I did return, this time with a large group, I was blown away! We had a wait staff of about 5, and the manager and owner personally checked on us regularly. We decided to go with the chef's tasting. What a fantastic idea! Course after course of delectable treats were brought to us. Not a bite was wasted. I will definitely go back for the amazing food, endless wine selection, and attentive service. If possible, ask to be seated in one of the gated wine cellars for maximum ambiance. Cheers!
