Why Greyhound let me buy 2 tickets going to Atlanta from Hampton, VA??? They knew buses were being cancelled yesterday when I bought the tickets. There is no information on when and what to expect next???

Just this morning I put my daughter on a Greyhound bus to Richmond. Won't be making that mistake again. Greyhound has no communication between stations on whether buses are delayed, and for how long. I put her on the 11:30 AM bus, and it was supposed to arrive in Richmond at 2:45. It is now 4:49 and she is still not even halfway there. The Greyhound employee in Springfield Va was very helpful to the extent that she could be, but she says she is not told this information. She gave me the phone number for the Richmond bus station, and of the 4 options it gave, 3 transfer to the main customer assistance number with a 13 minute wait and the 4th is 'not taking messages'. There is absolutely no way to track arrival times for Greyhound. Moreover, when I put her on at Springfield, that bus backtracks in to DC and a transfer to another bus to head back down south again. This second bus is the one that did not arrive for over 3 hours. Since it only takes 15 minutes to make the trip from Springfield to DC, Greyhound should have known at that time that the transfer bus was not going to be there. Surely they should have some idea of their buses; whereabouts! Yet this info was not relayed to the passengers. Had I known this, I would have made other arrrangements. I don't appreciate being treated like my (or in this case, her...) time and plans do not matter a bit. They did very much and now there is nothing that can be done about it. I WILL NOT subject either one of us to Greyhound's abysmal lack of a tracking/arrival/departure system again. Surely it cannot be that hard for them to duplicate what AMTRAK has up and available. With AMTRAK, one always knows what is going on with their schedule at any given time. When a person tries to communicate with AMTRAK it is very easy to either get the info online or to talk immediately with an agent. With Greyhound, it is IMPOSSIBLE to talk with anyone at all. And an online system is nonexistent. Worst service of any transportation company ever.
