We had dinner there last night and it was great! We ordered the Five Pepper tuna and the Seafood risotto, both perfectly seasoned and prepared. Will be back soon for more!
The food is fantastic and served with gourmet presentation. The owners are extremely nice, and even remembered us from our first visit months before. The atmosphere is between casual and slightly upscale, more toward casual. Great variety of food on the menu, so if you go with multiple people everyone can find something they like. Me and my wife highly recommend this to anyone visiting. Its a few blocks off the beach but worth the short walk or drive. Note, it aggravates me when people post negative reviews like 'we expected a nice seafood restaurant and it was a loud bar'. If you go out during tourist season anywhere you are going to have a lively environement. Stay home or go to a library if you can't handle it. This place is one the best in the area so don't let numbskull reviews like that stop you from visiting this great place, it's not a loud bar at all.
Croc's is a hidden jewel located on 19th Street in Virginia Beach. The outside looks unassuming, with its sidewalk tables and yellow paint. You might drive by it based on its looks, but that would be a huge mistake. The service, atmosphere, and food quality are top of the line. The owner is personable and knowledgeable.
The crab cakes were the best I've ever had. And, a simple, sauteed spinach dish was so good, it would even make Popeye proud!
You can order full or half portions so you only have to pay for what you can eat.
This is a total WINNER! We'll be back.
