Nara is great. I think it is close to the top sushi restaurant in this area. It has recently moved to the corner of Independence Blvd. and Haygood Rd. in the shops next to the McDonalds. The chefs and staff always make you welcome. This place has a family atmosphere; as if you are one of their family. They also have cooked Japanese fair, if you can't do raw fish.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsNara's fantastic service, Friendly sushi chefs, and laid back atmosphere have quickly made Nara our favorite sushi place in Virginia. My husband and I do not ask "do you want to go out for dinner?" anymore, we ask "Sushi?" neither of us has ever said no. I very much recommend the tropical stack, a picturesque stack of raw succulent tuna, topped with delicate avacado and sweet mango. It is a favorite along with the Crazy Angel roll, an absolutely beautiful and incredibly indulgent roll that I have literally taken a picture of to hang on my kitchen wall. This is by far the best sushi place in the area.
