Harpoon Larry's is a great place to go for fresh seafood not processed. The staff are very fun and friendly. When we go there they always make us feel like we own the place. We love the crab cakes and all the steamed foods are always cooked to perfection. We definatly like the flexibilty in ordering combos. You order what you want and how you want it. Broiled flounder, fried scallops, blackened crab cake. AWSOME!!!! It is the best little seafood dive around. WOW!!! Just talking about it makes me hungry!!!

My fiancée and I had our first date at Harpoon Larry's, and the place held special meaning for us..until last night. To begin, we had to choose the smoking section as the non smoking dining "room" was filled with an extended wait for those tables, curiously it's only about 1/3 the size of the smoking side. My fiancée ordered a cluster of crab legs, I ordered a grilled tuna fillet sandwich, as we had plans afterward and we expected a fairly quick turnaround. After the first cluster was gone, and my drink was empty, my dinner was still not to be found. My fiancée ordered another cluster of crab legs, and we were ok with it so far as the waitress said "raw bar stuff always comes out first", I guess so everyone else at the table can watch. My fiancée then went thought that cluster, and I still have no dinner, dinner was about 40 minutes on the clock at the point. Luckily there was a loud obnoxious drunk woman sitting nearby for our entertainment.
After 44 minutes, my sandwich arrives, with a "lovely" overcast gray color of tuna fillet and cooked well done (ordered medium rare). The bun was stale and crumbly, the lettuce looked as though it'd been picked up out of the compost bin, and the slice of tomato was more core than fruit. The French fries could've come straight from the Ore Ida bag in my freezer. The waitress set this masterpiece down w/o barely a word and left.
After getting some condiments and replacements for the lawn clippings on my sandwich I attempted to eat the culinary work of art.
I have never had a more bland, under seasoned, overcooked or drier piece of tuna in my entire life...frozen or fresh and this must've been in the deep freeze for a few months. As far as the french fries, nobody should ever order or pay for those from Harpoon Larry's. That is unless you like greasy frozen one's from a last year. Here's a tip for Harpoon Larry's..use fresh food or just stop serving food, and here's some tips for customers...go to Red Lobster, Surf Rider or the Hampton Seafood Kitchen just avoid Harpoon Larry's at all costs. Oh and Harpoon Larry's...clean your restroom's at least once a month, the smell of stale urine does not enhance one's palate.

We used to go to Harpoon Larry's all the time. The food is great and the prices couldn’t be beat. However, the last time we were there - several years ago - we watched a mouse scurry across the floor, going from table to table. Obviously we were pretty disturbed about it and so called the rodent to the attention of the waitress. Her response was what caused us to remove Harpoon Larry's from our list. She acted very nonchalant and noted that the restaurant had been some other type of business (I don't recall what) in the past and that caused them to have mice. If she had been as concerned as we were about the mouse, we might have written it off as fluke. But the fact that it seemed a natural occurrence to the wait staff made us wonder where else they see rodents... in the kitchen, etc. They have great food, but, I can't see my having to worry about cleanliness simply because the employees aren’t.
