We love coming to this park, it's so nice to walk around the lake. There are usually turtles sunbathing on the rocks. There's a bark park where you can bring your dog to play with the other dogs. There are several trails and if you walk all the way around the marsh you can get a good few miles in. It's a fairly well-maintained, quiet park in a very conveinent location and we spend alot of time here. It's especailly good for a walk after pigging out across the street at Plaza Azteca!!
A Quiet Park That is Pet Friendly: A hidden treasure on the Peninsula. Sandy Bottom Park is less frequented by area residents and boasts a really nice dog park called "The Bark Park" that you can let your pet run free. You need to register your pet (shot records needed) but it is worth it. The park itself has boating and camping opportunity. Meet your sweetie at the park and go for a walk.....several trails and sitting areas to rest and talk with that special someone.
One of our first dates (Bill & I) involved walking our dogs together at Sandy Bottom Park. Just off the Hampton Roads Center Parkway, Sandy Bottom Park is there for you...so what are you waiting for !!!!
