I love Andersons and I spend way too much money in there. I wander around and ask whomever is nearby if such and such would work in my yard. Not only do they stop what they are doing to answer, but then go out of their way to show me what might compliment what I already have and what works well together. I have purchased indoor and outdoor plants, flowering bushes and trees (both fruit and ornamental) from Andersons and had mostly good luck with all. I tried to give an excellent rate, but system isn't working.
Not sure I'll go back: OK we went there last fall to get some plants for yard and had the most helpful guy guide us through what would work best in our yard since we are new homeowners and know nothing about gardening. We left with three azaelas, among other things, that we planted and cared for. When spring came they looked incredibly brown and spindly so I went back for advice, the same guy was there and told me to dig one up to make sure it hadn't dried out, it hadn't, so I took it in to show him and he said it was dead and there was no hope and offered me a store credit and said in a month to bring the others back once they have new stock in. SO a month went by and we took the other two in which did had a few blooms by then but still looked brown and half dead. Well I believe it was a manager that "helped" us that time. He was rude, asking why we brought them back? I explained that the other guy said that they were dead last month. He said "Don't you see all the new growth? If you would have left them in the ground they would be fine, last month they probably just looked dead, you should have watered them...." Well we did water them, they were not dried out, the other guy said it was probably cold shock. How are we supposed to know, if something is brown I assume it's dead. Anyway he just made me feel very bad like I killed it and just wanted my money back. I didn't even know we would get a store credit, the other employee is the one who brought it up last month. He ended up giving us the credit but was reluctant and not very nice about it. I would have done what ever needed to be done to save the plants but last month I was told it was hopeless. This manager didn't seem to care when I explained that. We had to go back a week later to get replacements because I was too upset to stay that day. So even though they have a beautiful store and helpful employees, I feel very uncomfortable going back there I think the manager could have been much nicer about the situation.
Great Accessories: We were so pleased to find so many great accessories for our home. French, Italian and others. They have great taste in furniture and other hard to find items. It will take at least two hours to browse and see the great selection. Highly reccomend a visit.

There are some people who just should not plant things. I am one of them and the sooner you admit that you are too, the happier you will be.
Peacock's stament comes from someone that did not know all of the circumstances. Before you run off at the mouth know what you are talking about
I think you might find it helpful to buy a general gardening book. Then you might know how plants are supposed to look and when. I always keep tags to ensure I can look them up and give them the most appropriate conditions when siting and watering. A little education goes a long way.
