DIXIE DINER ROCKS! BEST PLACE EVER.... ANDY MAKES IT ALL FUN:)
I could not agree less with the first review. The first time we went to Dixie Diner, our food took an inordinately long time to come out. My eggs were incredibly greasy. I did not eat them. My husband's salad was brown and wilting.
We went back to give the place another chance, assuming that every restaraunt has a bad moment. Again, a long wait and sub standard food. I was shocked when I got my bill, it was almost 50.00 for a family of 3.
I think there are better places to eat in Petersburg than the Dixie Diner. The diner is nicely decorated and has a warm atmosphere. Fine to drop in for a coffee, but I wouldn't order any food.
Petersburg D
Gotta go to this classic sandwich restaurant: It's a classic, right in the historic area of Petersburg. Trains set up along the wall near the pressed tin ceiling. Fountain counter with bar stools plus booths and tables. Old pictures on the walls. Food is very inexpensive and very good. Feels like you're back in the 30s or 40s. Very casual.
