User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMy hubby was working out of town.. well state for that matter and he forgot something very important. So we decided to meet halfway, have something to eat and be on our merry way. Well exit 53 off interstate 85 and a really nice hidden Home Place. It was a very nice clean restaurant and the people were so nice. It has big windows that overlook a large pond and the leaves were just starting to turn, it was just beautiful. The food was great.. I had pork chop and of course my husband had fried catfish. It was really a nice stop from the everyday fast food places. So if you are ever in Dinwiddie County, VA.. give The Home Place a try. It's about 3 miles off the interstate and the signs lead the way. Enjoy!

My wife and I stopped here by luck while passing through from Maryland to North Carolina and loved it. Good food. Nice people. Even a lovely walk along along a lake.
