This restaurant offers one of the most exceptional dining experiences I have ever had. Forget the uneventful fine dining and snobbery you get at an expensive restaurant, dining here is all about the experience. The atmosphere is in many ways better and more representative of a traditional German restaurant than you will find in south western Germany, where the owners are from.
The owners and friends play live German folk music on their accordion and guitars, the fireplace adds ambiance in the winter, and the selection of German beers is plentiful and diverse. The food is well prepared and tastes as authentic as possible. The flavors will remind anyone of the Black Forest Region of South West Germany, including the home-made Black Forest Cake that, although it is served without alcohol due to US laws, is still pretty good and rich with creamy goodness.
Do yourself a favor and drop in to this place if you are on your way down I-81/I-64 and it is even well worth a little detour for the experience; itâs like a trip to the Black Forest without having to pack or the jet-lag!
The Edelweiss Restaurant: We were in the area on vacation with the in-laws. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great. If we're in the area again we will most certainly eat there.
Nothing bad can be said about this place: Everything from the time you enter the parking lot till the time you leave is absolutely pleasant. German food atmosphere and even live polka music (don't knock it until you try it). It will suprize you how much fun you can have at a resturant. The entire resturant is involved in the show. Food is great and plentiful. A wonderful change from the everyday places. You must experience this.
