My family has been doing business with Douglas Sporting Goods for about 30 years. Over the years, we have probably spent thousands of dollars. This is the reason that I was shocked and dismayed at the customer service that we received recently. We made a purchase for a product that was $300+. We were told at the time of purchase that the product was last years model. After using the product once, we noticed that there was a definite defect in the product. When we took the product back to Douglas, we were told that they would correct the problem. Almost two weeks past and still nothing. We contacted the manufacturer of the product and were told that they had not been contacted by Douglas and in fact the product that we purchased was not last years model, but a 2004 model and that they did not make the parts that we needed. We took the product back to Douglas and requested a refund of our money. We were told by the owner that he would not refund our money. We called the manufacturer again, from the store, and was told that they had found parts that would fit, but they were two different colors and they were in fact 4 years old also. The age of these parts would create the exact same problem that we are facing now. We spoke again with the owner and was told that he would not refund our money. That shocked me!!! Their website has their goals listed as, "Our Goals
To maintain the highest quality standards for our products.
To provide the best customer service possible.
To promote family fun and traditions." Well, they sure failed in all three areas!!! Their product was defective and misrepresented as last years model. Their customer service was horrible, and how can a family have fun when the product is defective and can't even be used??? I would highly, HIGHLY, recommend going somewhere else for ANY sporting goods purchase that you make!!!!! How can a business say that they promote family fun and tradition when they can't even handle customer service???????
