Bistro 1888 is awesome and is receiving some great recognition in the 2008 Virginia Travel Guide, the March 2008 issue Southern Living MidAtlantic Bonus Section and in the Mar/Apr. AAA Going Places in New York. If you're in the area, ya gotta go.

Detour to South Boston!: While traveling, we stumbled into the small town of South Boston around 6:00 on Friday evening, expecting to have to settle on a fast food place.
Somehow, we lucked out and came upon Bistro 1888. The restaurant was nearly full, but the hostess kindly accommodated us.
WE WERE SO IMPRESSED! The atmosphere was great, the artwork intriguing and the food....oh my God, it was great from the presentation, to the selection to the flavors Chef Moorefield put together. The wine list of over 100 selections was wonderful too.
It's worth the detour if you are traveling anywhere near South Boston.
