    Food is good. place is nice along with the people. My only complaint is the menu. it is too big. while that sounds strange it just seemed to me the place would be better if they did not try to cook as many dishs. If they stayed focused on just half that menu i think it would be a lot better.

    I'm from NY, which obviously influences my judgement. :-)
    The four stars are based on what's good there, not overall:
    As long as you're NOT getting something with a red sauce, the food is very good. Their calamari is among the best I've ever had!
    Decent salad bar.
    Good service, although slow (but that's possibly my NY perspective).
    Red sauces are poor - I recommend Carini's.
    For pizza, go to Frank's. All breads at Joe & Mimma's are based on Southern sweet dinner rolls, whether they're served as dinner rolls, garlic bread, foccacia, or pizza dough.
    The secret is you have know what you want in Italian food, and then pick the restaurant in Danville based on that.

    Five star Italian food. Although it may not be the place to go for pizza, my out of town friends (especially New Yorkers and Italians) compare Joe and Mimma's to their best back home. Reservations are essential on weekends...Favorites? Their fresh fish and scallop dishes are supreme!
