    You know the saying "You can't judge a book by it's cover"? Dirty Ernies isn't much to look at on the outside but the food and the staff makes up for it on the inside. About 15 of us travel there on our annual camping trip and it is the best part of our trip. The food is the best and the staff even better. Highly recommend a trip to Dirty Ernies.

    One has to be bit leary of a BBQ restaurant when you don't smell any smoke from a pit when you drive up. In a peanut shell, the service was excellent but the food was disappointing. Those "famous" ribs never saw a BBQ pit in my opinion. They were very tender but tasted boiled except for the mild BBQ sauce added after the fact. The shredded BBQ pork was watery and could have been frozen pulled pork from Wal-Mart. My friend and I actually recognized the flavor of the sauce as such. We didn't eat the cole slaw because it was warm. On the way back to the hotel, I bought a cheeseburger at Dairy Queen. Prices were average for BBQ. Not your Grandfather's BBQ!!

    Have be there 2 times in the past 5 years. The food is great and the service was great.
    Will be back again at some point.
