Now renamed Ali Baba's, offers excellent Mediterranean and American cuisine at reasonable prices (most entrees under $20) with excellent service. Excellent lunch buffet. Plentiful free parking.
Elias started Ali Baba's over 30 years ago in Westover and has been in various locations since but the dining experience quality has never changed - always excellent.
Nine years ago we built a home on Cheat Lake and come down as often as we can from our primary residence near Pittsburgh. In those years, we have not found a restaurant which we enjoyed enough to take our guests to (or, heck, even for my husband and me to go to!). Until the other evening when we went to Voyagers.
Soon to be renamed Ali Baba, and located on the main floor of the terminal building at the airport, this is one fantastic find in the Morgantown area.
I am fairly critical of restaurants, and did not have a single complaint about our first visit to Voyagers. Of course, I will return and edit this if I find something consistently lacking in the future, but for now it is a definite 5-star gem in the restaurant wasteland of this area.
First, Voyagers is not a chain. It is family-owned and family-operated (the owner introduced himself to us, and also came over to say goodbye when we left). The food is homemade and our entrees were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. Even the decor is traditional and appropriate (without going overboard into the tourist-in-the-MidEast look). Portions were generous, and prices were very reasonable.
We plan to return frequently, both with our guests and by ourselves. I also picked up a catering menu (also, very reasonable prices). This could be the start of a new way of entertaining for me (and not having to spend days in the kitchen! Yay!).
The best in Morgantown: I recenly visited the "Voyager." I was pleased that the owner actually "visited" with his customers and was available to answer any and all questions about the menu. The food was great and the service was superior.
Great job.
I love the fact that it is family owned and the "family" is on the premisis. The food is better than good and the appearance of the business is spectacular.
Keep up the great work. Unbelievable.
