Great Food and great service! If you love Mexican food and like getting your food fast--this is the place. The food is also very affordable. One of the best places in Morgantown.
Also they have great margaritas--you only need one and then you probably shouldnt drive home.
Best Mexican in the Tri-State (WV, MD, PA): My wife and I lived in Morgantown for 2 years and Rio Grande III was by far the best Mexican restaurant we have EVER ran into. We ate there every weekend for nearly a year and wish we had known about it sooner. We are missing the food greatly since we moved south of Harrisburg, PA and can't seem to find a restaurant that comes even close to the quality food that they serve at Rio Grande.
As another user mentioned, the homemade chips and salsa are out of this world. We recently drove thru Morgantown on a business trip and stopped for lunch here again to remember old times, and we were once again very pleased! BEST SALSA THIS SIDE OF THE RIO GRANDE! :)
As is typical for frequently visited restaurants, we almost always order the same dish. I opt for the Lunch Special #2 (Beef Burrito with rice and refried beans, yummy!) and my wife enjoys the Lunch Special #7 (Chicken Burrito with lettuce and sour cream).
One thing I found neat was that many of the other Mexican restaurants in the area have the same menu selections, even down to the lunch special numbers! Mi Pueblos in South Fairmont is another very good place to eat if you're in that area of West Virginia.
The service at Rio Grande is super speedy and the wait staff are both friendly and customer driven. Never had a bad experience at this restaurant. Best time to come is early lunch (11:00-12:00) as the restaurant is nearly emtpy. Busiest time to come is Sunday lunch, as many church members come here for the good eats.
In all honesty, out of all the things that we miss since we moved away from Morgantown, Rio Grande III is at the top of the list (next to friends). My wife was pregnant during our last few months there and she just craved their authentic mexican cuisine! :)
To the owners and staff of Rio Grande III (if you read this), KUDOS to you all! Your restaurant is simply unparalleled among Mexican restaurants. Keep up the good work and consider expanding to other areas if possible! :) We will support you if you move into South Central Pennsylvania.
