We read the above three reveiws, and since we live around 30 minutes away, decided to try Twila's as a change of pace. My wife ordered chicken stir fry. The pasta was in one big clump on the plate like it had been sitting quite awhile. The sauce was jar sauce, and there were three small strips of chicken. The vegetables were hard. I ordered the beef dinner. I was looking forward to the great gravy as the above reveiw states. It was definetly jar turkey gravy. It wasn't even brown. The beef was good, and the actual potatoes. My grandson ordered the 9" pepperoni pizza, and it was raw in the middle. We sat for 20 minutes waiting for our check, and eventually had to stop someone and ask for it. We weren't offered dessert or refills on drink. The glasses are very small. We'll never go back.
Went as suggested by...: Went as suggested by Yough Motel owner in Friendsville, MD (nice, clean place to stay). The food was very good. The steak was kinda small but real good and along with the mash potatoes (awsome gravy), salad and excellent home-made apple-pie, I was full and very satisfied. Understand, this is'nt your '5 star, big city high class expensive place', it's your 'small town average guy' place were the cook really knows how to cook, not make pretty designs on the plate and feed ya like a bird. My kinda place. I plan to eat here every time I go paddle the Upper Yough.
Great food, service and friendly people: We eat there all the time, bring the whole family! The food is fantastic, Twila and her staff are the friendliest people you will ever meet. They have a kid's menu and daily specials. The portions are generous and the bill won't empty your wallet. You will be glad you went there!
