I have now been to the restaurant twice. Both times it was off hours so it was not busy. The food was great, but the service was unusual. When I asked for honey to put on my sweet potato fries I was told they didn't have honey, so I asked for extra butter to put on them. About 5 minutes later the waitress came back with a pitcher to refill our drinks & asked how everything was & I asked where my butter was - she said she'd forgotten it. A second waitress came by about 2 minutes later & I asked for butter again. She went away. By then the fries were cold. A few minutes later the manager came by to ask how things were & I said I'd asked twice for extra butter but had gotten none. He went right away & brought back 3 small containers of butter & slammed them down on the table. So - even though they kept asking how everything was, I don't get the impression they really cared. BTW - never heard of a restaurant that doesn't have honey.

Have always loved their food. When I lived near Walnut Cove my family ate there several times a week. It was as cheap as fixing a meal at home.

Great country cooking for a reasonable price. Everyone in town loves this place. It stays busy and you get plenty of food! They have great combo platters too! I have to say it's well worth the time.
