My daughter-in-law invited me to join her in selecting pieces for her home. She has bought from TDF before and that's where we went the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. I was amazed at the quality of furniture (American Drew, Hooker, etc). As soon as she found what she was interested in she immediately found a sales associate to "hold" the merchandise. Within 3 hours she purchased a beautiful dining table & 6 chairs; 1 overstuffed chair; a fun ecelectic leopard print occasional chair; and, a queen headboard/footboard w/rails with matching nightstand for my 8 year old grandson's bedroom. The prices on all her items were way below price point. When you shop at TDF I recommend purchasing that same day. This is not a store where you can come back to after you've shopped other stores. I talked to a shopper who had been there earlier in the day, left, came back & the itmes she wanted were sold. The quality & pricing is the draw. None of the items we purchased were damaged. The staff is extremely accommodating and very helpful during our shopping and at payment time. The items were delivered the following Wednesday, and she & my son are loving the purchases. I highly recommend TDF for your next furniture purchase.
Between this store and the one in Cary, NC have found some fantastic deals. In all of my travels to High Point and Hickory, this has been one of the best furniture bargins.
I've shopped at TDF several times and have always found good buys and and enormous amount of stock. Most items are not damaged and far below retail. To be "damaged freight" the truck carrying the merchandise may have been in an accident or one or more items may have been damaged in other ways. For insurance purposes, the entire shipment must be designated as "damaged." I have purchased Basset furniture 80% off, American Drew 90% off (it was slightly damaged, but my kids would have done that anyway!), and some smaller pieces around 60% off retail. It takes a lot of looking, but well worth the effort.
