his BBQ joint serves some good food, including some of the best BBQ chicken I've ever eaten. The BBQ pork is nice, moist & tender, with some good flavor, however the sauce is a touch sweet, even by Lexington standards. They offer both types of slaw, and here I prefer the white.
The BBQ is simply outstanding, right up there with Whitley's, Clark's, Jimmy's, and Cook's. The dark meat is my choice here - come to think of it, it is my choice everywhere. Their hot dog is also very, very nice.
it is outside Lexington, heading toward Mocksville, but it is worth the trip - period.
The reason Tarheel Q is crowded is because they have good food, including the breakfast. I admit I don't like the smoke They have a friendly staff who are always on their toes. I would recommend Tarheel Q to anyone.
