My wife and I went to the New Garden Road Carrabba's Grill last night (August 31, 2008). We were greeted warmly by the young lady who opened the door for us, but our hostess was less than warm. She was stone-faced and could not make eye contact and led us to our table without much to say. (I later observed her displaying the same demeanor with other patrons.) Our server was nice and informative, but he came approximately five minutes after we were seated to ask for our drink orders, explaining that there had been no communication between the door staff and himself, which surprised my wife and I.
Our food came in a timely manner (my wife ordered pasta, while I ordered the grilled salmon). The food looked delicious, but I took one bite of my salmon and realized that it was too salty. I like salty foods, but this was the over-the-top kind of salty where you struggle to eat each bite. After two-and-a-half bites, I had to return it. I hated to send it back, and this was the first time I have ever returned food, as I am normally more accommodating to sub-par food than I should be. The server was apologetic and removed the entree from our bill, and I understood that he was not responsible for the saltiness of the food. He explained that a manager would come by to see us to discuss the unfortunate circumstance, but the manager never came. After 10 minutes, we left. I have since emailed the manager to let him know of the experience we had.
While I would go back for a second try, my wife, who has high standards for restaurant service, says that she will not return (which, of course, means that I won't be back...).
This is always my husbands first choice. We try to go a little early they do get very busy. The calamari richardo? can't remember exactly what it's called is drizzled with a light sauce a little on the tangy side. We love this appetizer even our 7 year old loves it. Last time we had the lentil and sausage soup and it was outstanding. It too was a little spicy but great favors. For kids they will give them a piece of dough to play with. My son always finds that more fun than crayons. The service has always been great and so has the food. I'm not a big fan of chains but they are an exception.
Not good....: I had to scour the menu to find something vegetarian, and when I finally did, it wasn't very good. My mom and brother, though not vegetarians, did not enjoy their meals either....fortunately we were eating on a gift card, so we didn't have to pay for it...

I am sorry that your experience was not good. Some friends (one of whom is vegetarian) and I ate there last sunday after church, and our meals were excellent as was the service. I have eaten ther on several occasions and the experience was similar. I hope you will give them another try.
