Asuka Japanese Restaurant

This is the best Japanese Restaurant that I've been to in the Raleigh-Durham area. I have been to some of the best Japanese restaurants in New York City and Asuka holds its own with them. The Sushi is very fresh and well-prepared. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend Asuka for anyone who loves good Japanese food.

If you know what good sushi is, stay clear of this place. My family went there on a Thursday night around 8:10pm, after the the mad dinner rush. 10 minutes had gone by before our waitress appeared. We ordered one green tea, one kirin light,a bowl of plain rice (for my 2 year old) and the "love boat" which consists an assortment of sushi and sashimi. The food took almost 30 min to come and it didn't come with wasabe or ginger. We had to ask for them.
Everything went down hill from there. The plain rice was very hard, the sushi was almost average and the sashimi was barely acceptable. The quality is at best a D-. By the way, they charged an outrageous $3 for a bowl of plain rice and $3 for one green tea!

Needless to say, we will not be returning.
