    Great place to go: I am formerly from the Boston area. I have dined in the North End restaurants often. This place is definetly comparable to the best places in the North End. The owner and the staff are among the friendliest people I have ever met.

    The epitome of the neighborhood Italian restaurant: Vic's would probably be a typical neighborhood Italian joint in New York or Boston, but here in Raleigh, it's something special. It's a family run place that serves excellent pizza and a number of outstanding pasta dishes.

    Standards like Meat Lasagna and Chicken Parmesan are as expected, but you'll be rewarded if you venture beyond them. Vic's offers several excellent seafood pastas (and a wonderful seafood pizza as well), with the standout being the Linguini Pescatore. The penne with chicken and mushrooms is a common recommendation from the staff and is outstanding.

    If you do visit, be sure not to skip dessert. Vic's offers tiramisu as good as any you'll ever encounter.

    I'd also note that Vic's is completely unpretentious in decor and manner of service, and is kid friendly.

    Great Italian food, at an amazing price!: Very cozy atmosphere with excellant service. The food was incredible as was the wine. This is always a personal favorite of mine, and by far the best Italian restaurant in the area!!!
